Outofcourt.in offers one of India's first structured virtual mediation internships, designed to provide law students with real-time exposure to dispute resolution. The programme is mentored by Advocate and Mediator Meena P. Waghray, Founder of Outofcourt.in, along with trained mediators, ensuring meaningful guidance and practical insight.

Type of Opportunity

Online Mediation Internship (Unpaid)

Eligibility Criteria

. Open to all law students across all years and programmes.

. Interest in mediation, ADR, and dispute resolution practice.

Areas of Work / Key Responsibilities

. Understanding mediation practice through structured learning modules.

. Observing mediator communication, party interactions, and case progressions.

. Gaining insights into the history, evolution and cultural roots of mediation in India.

. Learning core ADR concepts, mediation law, case studies, negotiation principles and settlement drafting.

. Completing two mandatory observational visits:

. A local Mediation Centre.

. The nearest Court to study ADR referrals and courtroom workflow.

. Engaging in practical learning activities and guided mentorship throughout the cohort.

Mode of Work

Online (Virtual) with required offline observational visits.

Important Dates and Timelines

. Duration: 4 weeks (as per BCI guidelines).

. Cohort Size: 15 interns per cohort.

. Students may specify their preferred internship month in the application.

Stipend / Perks

. No stipend (unpaid internship).

. No fee for participation.

. Certificate of Internship upon successful completion.

. First-hand exposure to mediation practice and structured ADR learning.
